Hey folks, let's break out of the technical talk for a second and have some fun with a classic hypothetical.
You're faced with the "one lens for life" scenario. A mysterious benefactor is going to fund all your photography projects forever, but there's a catch: you can only use one single lens for the rest of your life. No exceptions. The camera body can be whatever you want/upgrade over time, but the lens mount is fixed.
What lens do you choose and why?
I'll start: I'd probably go with a 35mm f/1.4. It's wide enough for environmental shots and tight enough for decent portraits. It forces me to move my feet and be part of the scene.
